About
Making a Difference—Together
For nearly a century, the Royal Canadian Legion has proudly served Canada’s Veterans, honoured those who have defended our nation, and worked tirelessly to build stronger communities across the country.
We're always looking for new members and volunteers—come be part of something meaningful!

Join Us in Building a Stronger Canada
They served—and sacrificed—for the freedoms we enjoy every day. Becoming a Legion member is a powerful way to show your gratitude and give back.
You don’t need to be a Veteran to join. Anyone can become a member and make a real difference in the lives of Veterans, their families, and their communities. You can join in our lounge anytime!
Rooted in Our Communities
The Legion is a grassroots, volunteer-driven organization. At its core is a deep commitment to service and community. Every year, Legionnaires contribute millions of volunteer hours to support people in need across Canada.
Through our local Branches, we:
-
Raise funds and offer essential services to Veterans and their families
-
Respond to local emergencies and community needs
-
Organize commemorative events and promote Remembrance
-
Support seniors, families, and critical social services

When your community needs help, Legion volunteers are there.

Supporting Youth Across Canada
The Royal Canadian Legion is one of the largest supporters of youth development programs in the country. We work hand-in-hand with schools and youth groups to ensure younger generations understand the importance of Remembrance—and grow into tomorrow’s leaders.
Our youth programs include:
-
Support for Cadets, Scouts, and Guides
-
Funding for youth sports and recreation
-
Scholarships and bursaries for education
-
Public speaking and essay contests on Remembrance

*Who was Hampton Grey? Robert Hampton "Hammy" Gray, VC, DSC (November 2, 1917 – August 9, 1945) was a Canadian naval officer, pilot, and recipient of the Victoria Cross during World War II. Gray resided in Nelson, British Columbia, Canada, from an early age. He and Eugene Esmonde are the only personnel of the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm to be decorated the VC in the war. Gray is the last Canadian to be awarded the Victoria Cross.

We are part of Canada’s largest Veteran support and community service organizations, helping Veterans, members of the Canadian Armed Forces, RCMP and their families get the care and support they deserve.
